(Night Professional Make-up Artistry, Advanced Beauty, Advanced Prosthetics and More) 800 Hours - 32 Weeks 5 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
 

Week 1

 

Cosmetics Chemistry, Makeup Manufacturing, and Private-Label procedures for the creation of your ownmakeup line. Differences between society, commercial, and media makeup artistry. Anatomy and Physiology, skin care and the art of makeup removal.

 

Week 2

Makeup History: pre and post production requirements, the responsibilities of a department head including hiring, scheduling, script breakdown and budgeting. Interior and exterior lighting techniquesHD, Super HD and "Red Camera" picturization requirements, color temperature, foot candles, aspect ratio and editing knowledge for the makeup artist. 

 

Week 3 - 5

Beauty Make-Up Artistry Course I

 

Week 6 - 8

Beauty Make-Up Artistry Course II (Advanced) Extensive Airbrush instruction including the mechanics, use, and proper sanitation and cleaning of the airbrush and accessories. Digital Beauty Makeup/ Photoshop.

 

Week 9

Aging I - Paint and Powder. The viewing with instructor commentary of the film, "Goodbye Mr. Chips" (Peter O'Toole version).

 

Week 10

Aging II - Rubber Stretch and Stipple and Appliance Application.

 

Week 11

Facial Hair Work I - Artificial hair laying on a tuffy head. The viewing with instructor commentary of the film "The Ten Commandments" (1955).

 

Week 12

Facial and Body Hair Work II - Lace application, overlay and directional wool theory and application.

 

Week 13

Hair Styling Design I - Wig Cutting, Setting and Styling for women. 

 

Week 14

Hair Styling Design II - Toupee and Wig Cutting, Setting and Styling for men.

 

Week 15

Bald Cap I - Cap manufacturing with intrinsic and extrinsic coloring.

 

Week 16

Bald Cap II - Barbering and hair wrapping techniques prior to cap application. Bald cap application, repair techniques, and removal procedures.

 

Week 17

Character FX Makeup I - Injury Simulation.

 

Week 18

Character FX Makeup II - Death and Gore Simulation.

 

Week 19 - 20

Character FX Makeup III - Character design and incorporation of all the above.Digital Character Makeup.

 

Week 21 

Classic Monster Construction I - The viewing with instructor commentary of the following classic horror and fantasy films: "Dracula" (1931),"Frankenstein" (1932),"The Mummy" (1932),"The Bride of Frankenstein" (1933), "The Son of Frankenstein" (1939), "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (1939),"The Wizard of Oz" (1939), "The Wolfman" (1941). Original monster construction designed by instructor and original monster design by students.

 

Week 22

Classic and Contemporary Monster Construction II - Practice and execution of the students original monster design.

 

Week 23 - 24

Prosthetics I - Application of several types of selected prosthetic pieces. The viewing with instructor commentary of the following films: "The Ghosts of Mississippi","Mrs. Doubtfire","Bram Strokers Dracula","Bicentennial Man", "A Beautiful Mind", "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button". 

 

Week 25 - 28

Prosthetics II - Basic through Advanced Prosthetic Laboratory Procedures, facial impression, positive and negative mold making (foam rubber, gelatin and silicone appliance fabrication and application).

 

Week 29

Administrative Makeup Course - Sales, business and accounting techniques, career development (business cards, resumes and interview training) for the makeup artist, MSDS and sanitation information, further makeupproject design and execution, portfolio development, character makeup refresher continued.

 

Week 30

Theatrical Live-Stage makeup, beauty and aging male and female. The viewing with instructor commentary of the film "Topsy Turvy".

 

Week 31 - 32

Refresher instruction (beauty, aging, hair work, bald cap, injury effects) and practical preparation for final examination. Includes viewing of select "TheMakeupSpace" seminars. 
   

Holiday Schedule

The following holidays are observed: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
